First, we must fill in the date of the purchase at the top right-hand corner.

, ¥ .

You may write the date in any style you wish. However, I would write the month first, the day second, and the year last. Some other countries write the day first, then the month, then the year, but in America we do not write like that.

After we enter the date, we must fill in the blank called "Pay to the Order of," which means "pay this person/company." If I am purchasing from T-Mobile, then I would write their name in this blank. If I am paying to a friend, maybe "John Smith," then I would write his name in the blank.

In the blank below "Pay to the Order of," we must write an amount in word form. For example, if I need to pay $100.35, I would write "one hundred dollars and thirty-five cents." Sometimes, people write 35/100. That's ok, too.

࿡ Ʈ 70 Ϸ, "seventy dollars and zero cents" Ǵ,  "seventy dollars and 00/100" , Ǵ "seventy dollars and xx/100" ˴ϴ.

After we write the amount in words, we must write the amount in numbers. The box to the right of "Pay to the Order of" is where we write the numbers (100.35 in this case,) right next to the dollar sign.

If at any time you make a mistake or error, you can make a correction. Be sure to initial any of these mistakes. Initial means to put the first letter of your first name and the first letter of your last name next to the mistake. For me, it would be "BK." Some places, however, do not like to accept these checks, so be very careful when filling out the check.

One step, which is optional, is the "Memo" or "For" blank. Here, you can make a note to yourself about what the payment is for. For example, you could write "my new T-Moble phone" to let you know that you bought the phone with this check.

Memo Ǵ For Ǿִ ûε, ǥ Ϸ ֵ ޸ ܳƵ ˴ϴ. T-mobile ̶ "my new T-mobile phone"̶ ޸ ܳ ˴ϴ.

The last step is to sign the check at the bottom-right corner. The name on the check should match the person who signs the check.

It is illegal to have someone else sign your name on the check. Do not leave your checks in view for others to steal, and never leave a signed blank check for others to steal.

If you need to cancel a check which you have already written, you may write the word "VOID" on the face of your check. It helps to make it big and prominent on the check using a marker.
