 = There is something that's bothering me which I cannot get rid of.

내 등에 원숭이 한마리가 붙어있다? 즉 아주 성가신 일이 있다는 것을 의미합니다.

나좀 그만 괴롭혀, 나 좀 내버려 둬! (= Stop bothering me) 라고 할때

Get off my back! 라고 하는데요,

직역하면 "내 등에서 떨어져!!" 라고 할 수 있겠네요.

Brandon :  Hey, Jane, I know it's not polite to ask a woman her age,

                  but how old are you?

                 (Jane, 여자한테 나이 물어봐서 미안하지만, 너 몇살이야?) 

Jane : None of your business.

          (니가 알바 아냐.)

[잠시 후]

Brandon : What year were you born, anyway?

                   (근데 너 몇년도에 태어났어?)

Jane : Oh my God, stop asking me! I won't tell you. 

          (오마이갓! 그만 물어. 말 안해줄거야)

Brandon : Jane, what is your Chinese Zodiac?

               (Jane, 너 무슨 띠야?)

Jane : Get off my back!

          (그만 좀 괴롭혀!!!)

[잠시 후 Jane은 친구Ashley를 만나서 이야기를 합니다.]

Jane : Ashley, I have a huge monkey on my back!

            (Ashley, 나 엄청 신경거슬리는 일이 있어!)

Ashley : What is it?

            (무슨일이야?)

Jane : Brandon won't stop asking about my age!

          (브랜든이 자꾸 나 몇살이냐고 물어봐!)
