Hello, today I wanted to talk to you about rice cake. My mom and I have been counting about how many Korean idioms use rice cake in it. I just don't understand why Korea has to use rice cake in it. We counted about 10 idioms or statements that have rice cake in it. What I think the reason is, is because it is the traditional food. We have found examples such as
그림의 떡
떡 줄 사람 생각 못하고 김칫국부터 마신다.
누워서 떡 먹기
싼 게 비지떡
남의 떡이 커 보인다
웬 떡이냐
And we found way more.
i don't think Korean people knew so much about rice cake being used in idioms that much
