How to Speak with an American
Rachel: Hi, my name is Rachel. What is your name?
American: Hi, Rachel, I am Greg.
Rachel: It is nice to meet you.
American: Thank you, I am pleased to meet you.
Rachel: What part of America are you from?
American: I am from New York. What about you? Where in Korea do you live?
Rachel: I am from Seoul, South Korea. What is your job?
American: I am a reporter. I write passages in the local newspaper.
Have you ever been to America?
Rachel: No, not yet. Someday I would like to visit America. Do you have any pets?
American: Rachel, I have two pets, one cat and one dog. I also have some
fish that live in a tank of water. What is your favorite hobby?
Rachel: I really love to draw! I can draw Snoopy and Garfield’s
teddy bear, Pookie.
American: That’s great! I like both of them, Snoopy and Garfield.
Isn’t it funny that I have a pet dog and a pet cat, and you can draw
a famous cat and dog?
Rachel: Yes, it is a little funny. I have to go for now. Maybe I will have
a chance to chat with you again soon. Thank you, and goodbye!
American: All right, Rachel. I had fun talking with you. See you later!
